Dr. Xiao Ding received the Ph.D. degree in radio physics from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2013.
In 2013, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Rapid City, SD, USA, as a Research Scholar. In 2014, he joined UESTC, where he is currently an Associate Professor. From 2016 to 2017, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Applied Electromagnetics Laboratory, University of Houston, Houston, TX, USA.
He is a senior member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics and a member of the IEEE. He has hosted 2 National Natural Science Foundations (1 Youth Fund, 1 Key Fund), 1 Aeronautical Science Foundation of China, 2 Provincial and Ministerial Funds, and other projects. As the first author and corresponding author, he has published more than 40 papers in international senior journals and more than 30 papers in SCI. Among them, there are more than 20 IEEE series journals. He applied for and accepted more than 10 invention patents.
His current research interests include antenna theory and computational electromagnetics.
