Dr. Xi Jiang is currently a research associate professor of Biomedical Engineering Department, University of Electronic Science & Technology of China (UESTC). He is also affiliated with Key Laboratory for NeuroInformation of Ministry of Education. He received his B.S. degree in School of Automation, Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2009, and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science Department, University of Georgia, US in 2016. He worked as a research assistant and postdoctoral associate from 2010 to 2016 in Computer Science Department, University of Georgia, US. He is interested in the interdisciplinary studies of computer science and brain science, especially the study of functional division of cerebral cortical folding based on functional MRI using machine learning (deep learning) and computational modeling, as well as its applications in cognitive neuroscience and brain disease studies. He has been serving as reviewer for more than 20 journals and conference proceedings such as NeuroImage, MICCAI, etc. He has been serving as Program Chair or Technical Program Chair for more than 10 international conferences. He is the Student Travel Award Committee member of MICCAI 2019. He has published more than 100 journal papers and conference proceedings such as Cerebral Cortex, Human Brain Mapping, TBME and MICCAI, more than 20 of which are first/corresponding authors. He is recipient of 2018/19 The Li Foundation Heritage Prize for ‘Scholarly Development’, 2016 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad, and 2016 Outstanding Graduate Student (Only one awardee in Computer Science Department, University of Georgia). He is holding several grants including 2 NSFC fundings (general and youth), 1 The Li Foundation Heritage Prize funding, 1 Special Fund for Basic Scientific Research of Central Colleges, and 1 Special Fund for freshmen PBL course of UESTC, with total amount of 1.2 million RMB. He also participates several other grants as key researchers.
