主要利用分子束外延（MBE）与扫描隧道显微镜（STM）技术进行材料科学以及凝聚态物理相关基础及应用研究。为IEEE会员（Member），中国材料研究学会（CMRS）会员，AAAS，APS，AIP，ACS，Wiley，Elservier，IOP，Springer等学术组织及出版机构期刊审稿人，国家自然科学基金项目评议人，多省市重大科技项目评议人，曾任EMN系列会议大会秘书及分会主席，International Journal of Nanotechnology客座编辑。发表SCI论文50余篇，包括领域高引论文三篇，总引用次数千余次，影响因子（h-index）21（参见：https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=bdULNcIAAAAJ&hl=en或http://www.researcherid.com/rid/J-5225-2015）。另主编英文专著2部，授权国际国内发明专利10余项（含美国发明专利1项）。

      每年招收硕博研究生2~3名。
