Dr. Chongfu Zhang ,  Professor

Prof. Zhang has received his Ph.D. degree in Optical Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2009.   2013-2014, Prof.  Zhang has done research as a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California (USC), supported by China Scholarship Council(CSC).

After M.Sc. graduation, he is a faculty member in Key Lab of Optical Fiber Sensing and Communication Networks (Ministry of Education), School of Communication and Information Engineering of UESTC.

Prof. Zhang is currently a full professor and Ph.D supervisor of optical communications at UESTC.  He has been selected by Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University (NCET), Program for Academic and Technical Leaders Candidates of Sichuan Province, Program for 100 Talents of UESTC and Advanced Staff of UESTC.

His current research focuses on Broadband access networks, Network space security, Optical communication system, Optical signal processing and Optoelectronic devices, such as optical multiplexing (optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing), broadband access (fiber wireless access, metro-access integrated networks, passive optical networks).

Prof. Zhang is the research team leader or the main research member, his group has finished about 20 research projects, and is doing 5 research projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National 863, GF973 sub-Project, National High Technology Research and Development Program (National 863), et al.

He has authored or co-authored over 90 journal (such as Opt. Express, Opt. Lett., JLT, IEEE PTL, Laser Phys. Lett., et al) and conference papers and 4 invited papers, has co-authored one teaching book in Chinese, and has filed 30 patents.  He has received 5 provincial awards because of outstanding contributions to broadband access networks and optical communications research.

He is a technical reviewer of IEEE JLT、 OSA JOCN、Opt. Fiber Technol.、Comput. Commun. and some other,  Sub-chair of ICCC, TPC of COIN、ICCIS, et al.

He is an IEEE Senior member, OSA member.
