Shuyuan Zhu received the Ph.D. degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, in 2010. From 2010 to 2012, he worked at HKUST and Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited, respectively. In 2013, he joined University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and is currently a professor with School of Information and Communication Engineering. Dr. Zhu’s research interests include image/video compression, image processing and computer vision. He published more than 70 articles and filed over 20 patents. He received the Second Class Natural Science Award from Chinese Ministry of Education in 2014 and the best paper award at CHINA-COM in 2010. Dr. Zhu was the special session chair of image super-resolution at IEEE DSP-2015 and is the special session chair of task-oriented image/video processing and coding at IEEE VCIP-2020. He also served as the committee member for IEEE ICME-2014, VCIP-2016, PCM-2017 and IEEE MIPR-2020. Dr. Zhu is a member of IEEE.
