Abstract:Solar energy is a promising renewable energy. In order to maximize the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation, PV array monitoring using infrared sensor is important. In this paper, a phenomenon of gradual change in the IR image when monitoring a large area of PV array is presented[What does this mean?]. The theory of temperature measurement using infrared sensor has been reviewed, based on which two elements, the variation of atmospheric transmission and directional emissivity, have been proposed to be the main cause of such phenomenon.
