Fang Jiaming, Ph.D., Professor, Doctoral Supervisor. Dr. Fang obtained his Ph.D. degree in Management Science and Engineering, specializing in Information Management and E-commerce research, from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2009. His current research focuses on data-driven marketing and consumer behavior, e-commerce and business intelligence, as well as AI and digital operations, primarily in the areas of digital platforms and product innovation, user-generated content, human-computer interaction, and big data marketing and management. He combines causal inference strategies, econometric models, advanced machine learning, and text mining techniques to provide information support for marketing and policy decision-making.
In the past five years, he has published 16 first-authored journal papers (11 in JCR Q1, 4 in Q2, 3 highly cited papers, and 1 annual best paper in a Q1 SSCI journal) in SSCI journals such as International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Information & Management, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Information Processing & Management, International Journal of Information Management, with a total impact factor exceeding 130 and more than 2,700 citations. His highest-cited paper has been cited over 420 times. He has also received one Science and Technology Progress Award from Sichuan Province.

Additionally, he has chaired multiple sessions at international and domestic conferences.
In the past five years, he has led or participated as a key researcher in six National Natural Science Foundation projects and five provincial and ministerial projects, including the Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Project of Sichuan Province. He has also led multiple projects such as the Chengdu Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Project and the Fundamental Research Fund for Central Universities. He has received one Science and Technology Progress Award from Sichuan Province. He has provided training on traffic operations and big data and e-commerce fields for government departments such as Chengdu City, Chenghua District, Wuhou District, Shuangliu District, Neijiang City, Nanchong City, Guangyuan City, Zizhong County, Ziyang City, Foshan City, Zhongshan City, Sichuan Mobile, Sichuan/Chengdu National/Local Taxation Bureau, and enterprises including Wuliangye and Fengji.com.
He welcomes graduates from 211 and 985 universities with majors in Business Administration, Management Science and Engineering, Applied Psychology, Computer Engineering, Tourism Management, etc., who are interested in researching online consumer behavior, information management and e-commerce, service and operation strategies, business intelligence, and data mining analysis, and are willing to pursue a master's or doctoral degree in conjunction with their undergraduate studies. The applicants should be familiar with Python, R, or Stata (important matters mentioned three times), have a solid foundation in econometrics or mathematical statistics for at least one semester, possess good writing skills in both Chinese and English, have strong execution ability, be outgoing in nature, and be efficient in their work. The research team focuses on academic research, although our students have been employed by companies such as Alibaba, Ant Group, Baidu, Tencent, Kuaishou, Didi, Huawei, Xiaohongshu, JD.com, State Grid Corporation of China, the five major state-owned banks, Internet banks, and fund companies. We have various horizontal and vertical research tasks, so we do not recommend students who solely pursue employment to apply.
