Zhaoqiang Liu is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), recognized as a National Young Talent. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Tsinghua University in 2013 and his Ph.D. in mathematics from the National University of Singapore in 2017. He joined UESTC in 2024. His research focuses on machine learning, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, with a primary focus on theoretical analysis and applied research in diffusion models, high-dimensional inverse problems, and large language models. He has published over 40 papers, with more than 30 first- or corresponding-author publications (including over 20 papers in CCF-A, CAS JCR Q1, or equivalent journals/conferences such as IEEE T-IT, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, and CVPR). In recent years, he has dedicated his work to diffusion models, publishing 10 papers in CCF-A conferences such as ICML and NeurIPS (with 7 corresponding-author publications). He has supervised an undergraduate student whose first-author research on discrete diffusion models was accepted as a Spotlight presentation at NeurIPS 2025 (acceptance rate 3.2%). Additionally, he has supervised graduate students who have published five papers as first authors in diffusion model-related research.
